Making a book  is a powerful tool that can  incorporate ideas, curricular themes, memories and dreams into a tangible object that can be held and referred to time after time. A book can be a simple construction or something so labor intensive that it takes years to master the skill. We will start at the beginning and have fun learning how to make something meaningful to each child, using papers, color and decorative accents.

Mary Ann Germanson is an Art Instructor certified in the state of Wisconsin, with 23 years of experience teaching high school art in Portage and Mazomanie. She received her B.S. and M.A. in Art Education from The University of Wisconsin-Madison. She sat on the boards of the Portage Center for the Arts and the WI Art Education Association. Currently, she teaches art classes for Viterbo University and Michael’s Craft Store and teaches private art lessons. She is one of five authors who penned the book, The Bookmaking Experience, which is a guide for using bookmaking to teach across curricula and age groups.
